Me down at Iona Beach this evening

Me down at Iona Beach this evening

I took this photo of me to prove I am out training – at least a bit!  This is me with my much maligned but in fact stalwart bike down at Iona Beach at about 7pm.  Today was a horrible start to the day, with a big down pour that caused me to stop on Marine Drive to fit covers to my shoes so I didn’t get completely soaked on my extended 11 mile ride into work. At this time of year the weather can change very quickly and by the afternoon it was a lovely day so I went down to the airport and Iona Beach. This is taken looking sort of eastwards towards the airport. This was the first time this year I have been able to dispense with my arm warmers.

About this blog

I'm James Zlosnik, a research scientist at the Child and Family Research Institute at UBC in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

This June my boss, David Speert, and others are organising the second annual gearup4cf bike ride from Vancouver to Calgary, Canada and I shall be joining them. The aim of this ride is to raise money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

I'm writing this blog to encourage you to sponsor me or others on this ride and give money to the very worthwhile cause.
